Carolyn Back

Community Resilience Liaison

Email:
careback@iu.edu
Maxwell Hall
750 E. Kirkwood Avenue
Bloomington, IN 47405

Carolyn Back is passionate about collaborating with communities to bolster resilience, harnessing local assets to ensure access to fresh food, clean air and water, and the abundant, beautiful lands of Indiana. Originally from Florida, she brings experience spanning wildlife conservation, AmeriCorps service in homelessness, community engagement in Chicago’s regional planning, and farming and natural building in Southern Indiana.

Carolyn holds a Bachelor of Science in Environment and Society and a Master of Science in Urban and Regional Planning, with a focus on Environmental Planning and Community Development, from Florida State University. Outside of work, you can find her having lunch with the community at Lost River Market and Deli, wandering the Hoosier National Forest, chasing her chickens around the farm where she lives in Paoli, making a giant mess in the kitchen, or honky tonkin' on the dance floor.
